About Us

Cody and I have been friends since high school.  We have always been avid sports fans, but in college we began to become involved in sports analytics.  We both worked for BYU as sports analytics research assistants and had a great experience.  Since our BYU days, we have continued to learn new tools, techniques, and ask both new and old questions about sports.

Andrew

I've been a sports fan my whole life!  I grew up in Utah, went to BYU, and now work for a company in Utah County.  I grew up playing basketball, soccer, and tennis.  I enjoy watching most any sport, but my favorites are basketball, college football, tennis, and international soccer.  My favorite sports teams are the Utah Jazz and BYU, including Cougars now in the NFL.

I recently graduated from BYU with a B.S. in Statistics, an emphasis in Applied Statistics and Analytics, and minors in Economics and Management.  Just a year before I graduated, I married my now wife, Hannah.  While at BYU, I worked with the men's soccer team taking statistics and doing various analytics projects for them.  I also helped create a model for the BYU Store to predict textbook demand.  I plan to pursue an analytics related master's degree or maybe two in the near future.  Sports has always been my passion and I'm excited to combine my analytics background with my love for sports and share it with you!

Cody

Like Andrew, I have been passionate about sports my entire life.  I grew up in Utah, and now attend UVU as well as working in Utah County.  I am married to my wife, Sara.  I grew up playing basketball, golf, soccer, baseball, and football.  There isn't a sport I don't like to watch and I love to get out and play whenever I can.  My favorite teams include BYU, Utah Jazz, and San Diego Padres.

I am working on a degree at UVU in Information Systems, with an emphasis in Business Intelligence with a hope to pursue a Master's degree in Sports Management upon graduating.  Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated with the numbers associated with sports and the impact those numbers can have.  Andrew and I hope that with the passion we share we can convey interesting information and tell a story with our data.  Enjoy!
